It's Been A While!

I’m back! I’m SOOOOO sorry for the lack of posting on my blog over the last two weeks. Turns out, getting things done over here is not as straight forward as it is at home and it took a couple of weeks to get the internet installed. After waiting everyday for a week for Airtel to install it and then cancelling them and setting up with Tata instead….both arrived on the same day to install it, crazy!!!

If you’re still with me and haven’t given up on my blog then thank you, things will be back to normal very soon, I promise.  I have some more style advice posts lined up, as well as some more shots from life in Bangalore, but I must admit I’m starting to get a little confused with Hip Shapes (as if you hadn't noticed) I’m not sure what it’s about anymore and I wonder if it’s getting a wee bit general.  I originally set out to create a place where people could get simple style advice on working the trends, developing their style and making the most of their wardrobe instead of spending buckets of money on far too many clothes that are never worn.  However, recently, I've found my love of pattern and photography creeping in too…it’s hard not to be inspired over here!

What do you think?  Is it becoming too general?  I’d love to hear your thoughts/advice/likes/dislikes…

I have a few more style posts lined up over the next week, so if that’s what you visit Hip Shapes for, then check back soon.  But for now, here are some random shots from life over here in Bangalore…

I love it Niki! The photos are just incredible and I absolutely love hearing about what you are doing over in Bangalore and the different life style. Please do this more, it just seems natural as it is relevant to you. Hip Shapes was relevant back over here but I think it is ok to more general and change your focus. I also love being taken away from rainy old Britain for a few moments to read about and look at photos from Bangalore.

I like it, a more journalistic approach, and I don't think that will mean no more style because that is also a big part of who you are, so I am sure it will play a part. I say just go with it, write about what you are thinking, make a photo journal, I would love to see sketches too, you draw such beautiful things. Did you look at Andrea Joseph's blog? Think you will find some inspiration from her http://andreajoseph24.blogspot.co.uk/

See where life takes you, you are on a very exciting journey at the moment. Gosh I sound so philosophical (so unlike me!)

I think you should publish whatever you want to! It saves having two outlets, and I think people really love to learn more about where people live/what they do /what they enjoy doing. Well I do anyway!
I agree with Katy above, lets see more amazing Bangalore pictures :D

Thanks Katy :) You're right, it's only natural for the things around us to evolve and change as we do. I need to find a way of including all the things I love but that in a way that feels more organised and less confused. Structure is what I need!

I enjoy following Andrea's blog, thanks for putting me in touch. I told her that you use her work to inspire your students too :)

Thanks for commenting...I love the philosophical you, and actually it's not unlike you at all!

I think you should move in a direction that is interesting to you. I've been thinking of expanding my scope, too - and it is a little hard to do without feeling scattered. I guess we just jump in, and trust that it will all fall into place.

You know, I think its really important to create content that you would want to read. Because its totally okay for your blog to evolve into something other than what you originally planned! And its honestly okay to lose readers because of it! You'll gain more because people will see your sincerity and interest in your posts.

You probably already knew all of that stuff though. Just some affirmation for ya : )

So happy you finally got internet! Its seriously really hard to be a consistent blogger without having it at home! Can't wait to see the style posts!

Thanks for the advice Melanie, it's really kind of you to take the time :) I guess I knew that, but it's great to hear it from a fellow blogger! I'll do some style posts soon :)

Fantastic photos, you both look so happy! I think that you should do what feels right for you with the blog. It should be a reflection of you and your life and I think that is why people will visit and what makes it unique from all of the other blogs out there.

Thanks Jane, I think I need to stop overthinking it (if I can!) and just write whatever I want :)
